These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of MedNautica (the “Service”). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
MedNautica is an organizational and portfolio-tracking tool. It helps you record extracurricular activities, hours, verifier contacts, skills, and CanMEDS role classifications over time, and generates a data-completeness view of your own records.
Where the Service references official application processes, always confirm current requirements directly with the relevant admissions organization (for example OMSAS or OUAC in Ontario) rather than relying on the Service.
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your province or territory of residence, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian as required by applicable law.
You retain ownership of the activity descriptions, verifier information, and other content you enter into the Service (“User Content”). You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your User Content, including any activity details, hours, and skill or CanMEDS classifications you assign to your own experiences. The Service does not verify, fact-check, or endorse the accuracy of anything you enter.
You grant MedNautica the limited right to store, process, and display your User Content back to you for the sole purpose of operating the Service. We do not claim ownership of your User Content and do not use it for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
If you enter information about another person (for example a verifier's name, role, or contact details), you represent that you have a reasonable and lawful basis to provide that information, such as an existing relationship with that person or their permission. You are solely responsible for your use of any third-party information you enter into the Service, and for complying with applicable privacy law with respect to that information.

The Service, including its design, code, and branding (excluding your own User Content), is owned by the operator of MedNautica or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the Service itself without permission.
CanMEDS is a competency framework developed and owned by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. MedNautica uses only the seven CanMEDS role names (Medical Expert, Communicator, Collaborator, Leader, Health Advocate, Scholar, Professional) as user-assigned classification labels. MedNautica does not reproduce the official CanMEDS diagram, does not copy Royal College competency descriptions, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, certified by, or partnered with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
MedNautica is an independent organizational tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of OMSAS, OUAC, AFMC, any medical school, university, or admissions organization, unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing. Any reference to these organizations in the Service is for informational or classification purposes only.
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes that affect your ability to access your data.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently deletes your account data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, including the acceptable use provisions above.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in this section limits any warranty or consumer protection that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MedNautica and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. This limitation applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law and does not exclude liability that cannot be limited or excluded as a matter of law, including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct where applicable law prohibits its exclusion.
You, not MedNautica, are responsible for any claim arising from information about a third party (such as a verifier) that you enter into the Service without a lawful basis to do so.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the province in which the Service's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection law of your own jurisdiction that cannot be displaced by agreement. Any dispute-resolution or arbitration provision beyond what is stated here has intentionally been left out of this draft pending confirmation that it would be enforceable in the jurisdictions where the Service operates; it should not be added without that review.
If we make a material change to these Terms, the “Last updated” date above will change and, where practical, existing account holders will be notified. Continued use of the Service after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
